Ultra-High Temperature Heat Pumps

Although Toyesi has been manufacturing heat pumps for over 30 years, sometimes you need to turn to alternative suppliers for solutions to fit a unique situation.  A growing trend to change over from high-temperature gas-based boiler systems to alternatives such as heat pump systems required working with a key market leading manufacturers overseas.

Turning of the Gas?

With the awareness of the future limitations of Gas heating, rising costs, and future phase-outs and supply issues around gas based solutions, many companies have already begun swapping out their gas-based heating systems for heat pump solutions.  For swimming pools and home hot water systems, this process is relatively easy.  However, the commercial and process arena has been a challenging one for the same gas-to-heat pump exchange over.

This challenge has been the temperature output limitations of heat pumps. Gas-based solutions easily manage 65 to 90 Degree Celsius outputs, whereas heat pumps have been limited to around 45 to 65 Degrees until recently. Still requiring gas or other heater backup systems.

Our Utlra high temperature heat pump solution can cater to projects from 65oC up to 85oC water outlet temperatures without the requirement for additional backup heaters.

Utilising a unique 2-stage cascade R410a & R134a system they can perform even under low ambient conditions. Coupled with their EVI + DC inverter system the heat pumps can perform from -35oC through to + 50oC ambient conditions. Offering up to 30% energy consumption savings over other more traditional heat pumps.

A cascade system uses R410A as a primary heat pump to draw energy from the air and use this energy as a preheat for the R134a refrigerant loop. This allows the R134a to run efficiently creating a stable temperature environment.

CO2 heat pumps were the first main solution to manage the high-temperature hot water solutions, However, the advantage of a 2-stage cascade system over a CO2 Heat Pump or in fact, other R134a Heat Pumps is the ability to work at low ambient temperatures, and at the same time produce sustainable output temperatures around 75 degrees all year round.

The extra compressor stage does increase the initial cost of the unit over that of other R134a heat pumps, though the extra capacity and stable high-temperature hot water output puts this system a step above them. With that said they are still more affordable than the current CO2 heat pumps that sit around 50 to 100 kW outputs.

Thermace Ultra Hot Water Heat Pumps

Thermace Ultra hot water heat pumps are designed for efficiency and performance. Thermace units are designed with advanced and powerful Cascade technology that allows for consistent temperature outputs even at below-freezing ambient temperatures.

They have an ergonomic and attractive design, in a quality powder-coated sheet metal chassis or upgradable to 304 stainless steel chassis for that high-quality feel and durability. Product lifespan is more important than warranty periods.  Units that last 10-plus years and provide long-term value for money outway systems that die just outside of warranty.

The Thermace Ultra Hot heat pumps use a cascade system. This means that rather than a single compressor powering them, they use 2 in partnership between them. The First (R32 or R421a) compressor draws heat from the air and preheats the second stage. The Second stage (R134a) is then heated up to 85 degrees. This two-stage cascade system offers unique high-performance stable temperature outputs.
